SIGNING IN

Computers can be complicated. At least for me they can be. But thanks to Dell technicians and my computer geek son, that lives over 1000 miles from me, I am now in business with my new computer.

I have decided to give my new computer a name. The word computer can sound rather intimidating to some folks.  So, I have come up with this slang name, the hood, as my laptop has a hood. But also because I can be cool when I say to people I meet; "I have been working with the hood," which will give them the idea that I belong to a notorious street gang.

Well, I do belong to a cool gang -- the gang of bloggers that are interesting, diverse, and provide connections that keep our minds fresh with knowledge and entertainment.

  1. I used to, and still do occasionally, refer to my computer as puter. Isn't it great having a new computer?

  2. Hurray, I'm glad you're back with a new hood! Maybe you'll need to buy a hoodie to wear on your photography expeditions when the autumn weather cools. I'm so glad I'll be able to see your photographs and read your insights about your part of the world. I feel a cherished friend has returned from a trip out of town.

    1. June I actually did buy a great artsy hoodie recently. I probably will be wearing it this fall as I travel around looking for photo material. You are so kind with your words. I can honestly say that I sure missed everyone that I hook up with on blogs. Thanks so much -- barbara

  3. Welcome back to the hood! Seems like such an oxymoron for you 'the hood and folkways' together at last.

    1. Nature Weaver -- I certainly am attached to my computer. I had withdrawal systems when it crashed. I missed the fun of opening up the hood on my laptop and saying hello to everyone -- even though it was not in person. thanks for the nice comment -- barbara

    2. Nature Weaver -- Oh, and by the way -- hope you are having a nice time in the north country. I know there are still spots that have poor signal receptions for such things as GPS, mobile phones, and internet service. But you are doing well with getting your blog out.-- barbara
