Love the picture of fluffy snow on the oak leaves. The storm have moved up my way in Cape Cod but you were much braver than I, I didn't go out at all today. Maybe tomorrow ... wait and see what the weather's like.
June -- I understand that the east coast is getting quite a snowstorm -- maybe even blizzard like conditions in some parts. I think you are smart to lay low and ride the storm out in the comfort of your home. Thanks for the nice comment of the oak leaves. -- barbara
Jayne -- I am enjoying the beautiful snow but I am snowed in as I live on a hill that is a private road which is not maintained by the county. This forces me to stay put for a few days until it melts which is fine with me. Even though this happens once in awhile, I still like winter. -- barbara
Hello Birdman, thanks for the very nice comment on the barn shot. It was that kind of day when the weather was lovely and no sun to interfere -- barbara
What a beautiful Christmas snow! Like being inside a snowglobe. :-) That beautiful photo of your old barn is just classic and would make a beautiful painting or holiday card! It's such a serene image.
Laloofah -- yes, yesterday was like walking in a snow globe. Beautiful. I love my old barn that is past possible resurrection. People suggest I sell it for the old wide virgin white oak boards but I believe its going to hang on for quite a while yet. So I keep it and am charmed by its character. thanks for stopping by -- barbara
Kay -- My wonderful neighbor is laying gravel down our hill, over the snow slick, so some of us can get out. So many states got hit. Oh well, its winter and this is what nature gives us -- beautiful snow and slick roads.
Janet -- yes we have had a light dusting of snow on the ground for a couple weeks too. Very unlike the usual weather at this time of year. The photos above were taken last Sunday when we received the majority of our snow. I believe that W. Virginia gets much the same weather as we do here in KY. Thanks for stopping by -- barbara
Granny Sue -- thanks for stopping by. I visited your posts -- you have a great cache of knowledge on Appalachian ways. I plan on keeping in touch -- barbara

ReplyDeleteVicki -- thanks -- we got a lot of snow as I am sure you did too. -- barbara
ReplyDeleteIt's snowing here in Ohio but not quite as much as I thought. Then again "It ain't over until it's over." as Yogi Berra said long ago.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are, as always, beautiful!!
I am enjoying the snow since we got back to KY. Nice pictures and it looks like the dogs are enjoying it too!

Farmchick -- Many of the folks who live near me got stuck getting up hills. It is rather slick today -- a good day to stay home if you can. -- barbara
