  1. Oh.......this is simply horrible. We cannot let it fade from the public eye. All this Wall Street junk....sorry, but it doesn't mean a thing to the average American...the oil spill does.

Love you, Barbara, for always bringing important things to the foreground for us all.

  2. Elora -- Thank you. It's an ugly situation when we destroy habitat and wildlife. All life is connected. I can feel your pain about this situation. You are right, we cannot let this insanity over drilling in our oceans fade from our public memory -- barbara

  3. Yow, that's frightening! In Canada, they are still planning to go ahead with a new off-shore drilling site that will be the deepest yet on the east coast, and want to build a pipeline to ship oil in tankers from the west coast. They assure us it is perfectly safe...

  5. barefootheart -- I didn't know that Canada was considering a "deepest yet," drill site off your east coast. When I did a little research on oil spills around the globe I found it is quite common to have blow outs and/or spills. Statistically I do not know if spills have increased over time. Australia had a blow out and oil spill last year, the Montara Spill, that caused considerable environmental damage. Louisiana had a spill just last month in a national refuge area. I find it difficult to accept the idea that any drilling for oil in the ocean is safe.

Thanks for your informative comments and the nice comment about my header. -- barbara
