winter ice storm -- midwest
I love the way you recognized such personality in these beautiful leaves! :-) This post made me think of one of my grandmother's favorite poems, October's Party. Wonderful photos and a delightful post!
Your grandmother's October Party was terrific. Sorta the party feeling I got when I saw these colorful leaves lying about. I was out in a beautiful natural area only about four miles from where I live when I took these photos today. Thanks for including the poem and the very nice comments -- barbara.
Even when wet and w/o color, they offer some moments of bliss. Check out my 'ocean of orange' today. Ha!
Birdman -- You can't beat autumn colors! -- barbara
Lovely, while I've been looking up in the trees, you've found the beauty where all those leaves are falling!
Barbara -- Oh but you are looking in the right place -- those autumn tree photos you have on your blog are great! -- barbara
Tabor -- thanks -- I enjoyed walking the nature area, finding so many beautiful colors and plants. Wish I knew how to identify them -- working on it though. --- barbara
Wet, yet colourful - they have done their job for the season they have.
visualnorway -- it was misting a bit as I took these photos -- tis the rainy season here -- and the leaves are fluttering to the ground quite fast -- thanks for the comment -- barbara
June -- thanks -- this was a wonderful late afternoon walk in the misty woods. -- barbara
I loved these photos. In the Northwest now I notice unusual colors this year, and you have captured them. I'm seeing a silvery greenish pinkish color I don't remember noticing before. It's already too cold for my taste, though.
Hattie -- These were the most colorful leaves that I have seen in the Portland area this fall. This was a beautiful natural undeveloped area in Portland that had a 40 mile loop walk. For sure, I did not walk the 40 miles. thanks -- barbara
Barbara, I love your photos, but I also LOVE the personality of them!!! Love the life you've added to these guys, gathering to discuss summer & to play. Pure joy!
Rita -- these were just waiting for my camera as I entered this nature park. I thanked them for their beauty as I left. thanks -- barbara
I don't know why I hadn't seen these leaves before on your blog but they are so beautiful to see and you always capture the best. Thanks
