    1. Vicki -- Yes Vicki -- water is our life source -- when it is degraded so are we -- thanks -- barbara

  2. This assumes that those who dump chemicals down drains can actually read!

    1. John -- It is discouraging to know that folks still dump toxins down drains. Also prescription pills down toilet doesn't help the world either. People certainly need to awaken to the reality of what is happening to our water. -- thanks barbara

  3. That tag in the pavement probably garners more compliance than a red circle with No Dumping, I'm sure. I like it; it's blue for life giving water, it explains and shows another life in the cycle.

    1. Joanne -- Your words about the blue circle tag are lovely -- especially realizing that it is not only humans that are being exposed to degraded water but the animals too -- thanks -- barbara

  4. Informative and beautiful. Beauty is all around us, but we are often so busy we fail to see it.

    1. Michelle -- Agree with you that beauty is all around us but we are often looking the wrong way. I even find myself missing what I am looking at in the camera until I develop the photo. I'm trying to improve my seeing through my camera lens. -- barbara

  5. You remind me that there are so many things to look at and take photos of around here. And a good incentive for doing more walking, too.

    1. Hattie -- So many things to look at -- if they are what you want to photographs that is. I have dry periods. I have flourishing periods. It all depends on many variables -- thanks -- barbara

  7. A certain mystery on first view--what is this, where is the observer. Next realizing that it's a curb seen from above. Enlarged it became livelier, more colorful-- rocks and moss (what Melissa refers to?), and leaves--the natural in contrast to the manufactured metal drain.

    1. naomi -- that is an interesting way to look at this photo -- I'll have to enlarge it to take it all in. I used the drain and blue label (or tag) as symbols that our water is to be respected -- no toxins allowed either down a drain or dumped into a river. thanks -- barbara

  8. I didn't read the sign the first time because I got caught up in the little mosaic pattern above the grate...

    1. Rita -- Isn't it interesting how folks interpret a photo first. So many times I miss seeing the subject while getting caught up in an aside -- thanks -- barbara
