RURAL DAY OF 58 DEGREES AND SUNSHINE

At last the sun is shining here in Central Kentucky and the temptures rose to an unbeliable 58 degree Fahrenheit. When I was growing up in Michigan we would call this the January thaw.

Spent the day outside and took a few photos. One is the old barn above with its vote for Holt for sheriff. No I don't know Holt. Notice the clear blue sky -- haven't seen one for weeks.

A perfect ending to the lovely day was this wonderful sunset seen from my front porch. I hope you are having a good weekend wherever you are.

  6. It's sounding from several blogs like sunsets have really been glorious all over the past few days! (Well, not here - but our sunrises have been!)

Glad you're getting to be out and about enjoying that balmy break! We had one Friday, it was delightful! But today it's 5º with freezing fog, and isn't supposed to warm up till Thursday (but then into the 40's! What a yo-yo. And I wonder why I get headaches!) Enjoy some of that warm sunshine for me, and thank you for sharing your photos, especially your stunning sunset!

  12. Laloofah -- I'm a bit behind getting to everyone's posts. You brought good news to me that many are having a good sunny weekend. I'm sorry that you are still in the throes of freezing temps. But you do have some great temps coming your way. I think this good weather is just nature giving us a tempting look at what spring looks like. After the look, nature will remind us that it is still winter. -- barbara
