HANGING ORB SPIDER WEB BEAUTY

As I stumbled out of bed this morning -- out to the kitchen to make my coffee -- I glanced out my windows overlooking a treed space. There to greet me was a large hanging orb spider web -- filtering early morning light through its woven strands. I grabbed my camera and stood out on my balcony taking its photo as it was high up in a coniferous tree.

I then thanked the spider for giving me such beauty to start my day.

    1. Florence -- the morning slant of light helped the web to shine against the green. but it was a long shot so I did get a bit of blur. thanks for the nice comment -- barbara

    1. Tabor -- it is amazing that as we photograph more and more we see things that we would have missed before. This was a bit difficult to get in clear focus but I still enjoyed taking this. -- barbara

    1. Joanne -- I don't think it was a Charlotte kinda spider that made the web. By the afternoon the web was gone. I know that some spiders eat their web daily as a protein energy source -- not all spiders do this but this one appears to have been hungry. thanks for the comment -- barbara

  4. Lovely to thank the spider. And maybe the spider thanks you too for the beautiful portrait of her web...and the coniferous tree maybe thanks you for showing her beauty...Your image has a soft, otherwordly quality...almost wintry...PS I watched a dog playing fetch the other day with his guy & one of those ball thrower things..Beautiful to watch them in harmony with each other .So I just noticed Sal on the right with that ball in her mouth! Very funny!

    1. Rita -- The morning was overcast and the light was coming in low -- I believe that is what made the web seem almost wintery -- but also a bit blurred as I do not have a telescopic lens. Oh my dog loves fetch and his ball. He is a funny guy. Your comments are wonderful to receive -- barbara
