Ms Chicken Little is waiting for the school bus. She and her friend -- who took cover when he saw my camera come out -- like to come down the road to the school bus shelter and wait. Wait for what; the children? a fox? a hawk, the sky to fall, -- who knows?
Maybe she's waiting for a child friend to get off the school bus. That's a pretty purple shelter. Since I'm still watching the slow melting of the snows, I appreciate, too the dandelions in the grass. I do hope no fox comes to meet Ms. Hen.
ReplyDeleteJune -- So, you still have snow! I thought it would have disappeared by now. But I guess you did have quite a bit of snow. Understatement for sure. I won't mention what the temps are here. Is all I will say is it is lovely weather here. thanks for your nice comment -- barbara
DeleteAnd perhaps it's a wonderful hen-house away from home, and that persistent rooster. I once had a cat who accompanied the children to the bus and met them at night.
ReplyDeleteJoanne -- Behavior in animals can be so surprising sometimes to us humans. A cat that chaperoned your children to and from their bus! Unusual it seems. I knew a young paper boy that delivered papers in the city who had a pet goose that walked the whole route with him. Again unusual. thanks for the nice comment -- barbara
DeleteWhat a great photo, one of those moments to capture...love the purple shelter for the kids (even though shy ones hide).
ReplyDeleteBarbara -- I like taking photos of slices of life. Usually the photos are pieces of everyday life rather than big eventful actions. I feel they are the underpinnings of culture. thanks- barbara
DeleteLove this one. Set perfectly. Your banner is a wonderful fence too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the very nice comment. I find that carrying my camera with me most of the time allows me to find more oportunities to capture photos.
DeleteHmmmm......I'm betting that some of the school children share a bit of their left over lunch with the chickens when they get off the bus in the afternoon. I would have :)))))
ReplyDeleteNow that might be so. -- never thought of that. The animal world is facinating and one usually cannot figure out why they do somethings. But food is always first and foremost in an animals mind -- including the human animal. Thanks -- barbara
DeleteHow funny!
ReplyDeleteMichelle -- Living out in the country as you do I imagine you witness many animals doing funny things. thanks -- barbara
DeleteCute! Maybe she just loves that shade of purple!
ReplyDeleteMilissa -- I don't know about how the chicken feels about the purple bus shelter but I think it is "cool" as the kids would say. --- thanks -- barbara
DeleteThat is truly a free range chicken. I love the bus stop.
ReplyDeleteNCmountainwoman -- I thought she was a pretty risky chicken to be fooling around by the bus stop. Lots of prowlers in these parts that would love to have her for dinner. thanks -- barbara
DeleteI 'm guessing cause the sky is about to fall & she has a strong looking shelter close by.....:)
ReplyDeletetroutbirder -- You might be right in more ways than one that the sky might fall. Her along with many of us need a strong shelter nearby. thanks -- barbara
