  1. A perfect capture, but too hot. The extreme summer, I guess.

    1. Joanne -- Yesterday was a scorcher as my mother used to call very hot days. Temps will be lower somewhat today. Never expected all the hot weather when I moved here. Yes, I would agree with you -- it is an extreme summer. thanks -- barbara

  2. Oh man, did you think you woke up in Kentucky today? Those are crazy temps for the PNW (and bad for those fires out there!) Hope you stayed cool! (The dog's got the right idea - naps in heat like that are a the way to go - naps and cucumber water!)

    1. Laloofah -- Yes, it is like KY here. It sure has been a hot summer. I believe You have had some nice summer temps out your way. I should just take naps like smart dogs do when the hot weather rolls in but always feel I'll miss out on something if I do. thanks -- barbara

  5. The West Coast has had an amazingly hot summer -- I bet we can all imagine what the dog is feeling. Happily, here on Cape Cod we've had a near perfect summer. Enjoying every moment because the days are rushing by.

    1. June -- I'm envious of the East Coast. Days do rush by all too fast. Hope we will experience some nice moderate temps before the winter rains set in. But I really don't mind the rains that come almost every day in the cool of winter. thanks -- barbara

  6. Oh my, you all have a real summertime there. Sorry we can't share it, yet, anyway. Every time I look at your new profile photo I wish your hair were combed back...just my humble opinion! You may throw pillows or tomatoes at me now.

    1. Barb -- Nice that you noticed my new profile photo. Yes, my hair is quite a mess in the photo but its my natural look when I've been out capturing photos battling the elements. I just wanted folks to know me as I am most of the time. Your comment made me laugh. thanks -- barbara

  9. Oh, my, that really is the Dog Day of Summer! We've been blessed this year, not even one heat wave, idyllic every day. But I NEVER take it for granted, constantly am grateful. Will you be staying indoors more? Here it is winter that drives us to stay indoors.

    1. Rita -- today I have been hearing about the ideal temps you have been having. I hope you do have time to get out and sketch while the weather is good. I do get out and about in all kinds of conditions otherwise I go stir-crazy staying in the apartment night and day. I think most folks feel like I do. I like to do simple things when I get out like pick blackberries that are ripe right now and are found along wild roadways. Very meditative picking and also delicious eating. thanks -- barbara
